ALAN JACK (left) looks to have convinced his older brother John Jack to join Clydebank FC. While the club have yet to finally confirm the news, the Clydebank Post as well as the Beith website have both reported this with the Post even carrying an interview with the elder Jack. Both players are said to be eager to play alongside each other once again as they did a few years ago playing for Shettleston. The club were able to confirm the signing of Gavin Rushford, from St Roch's. He's a 22 year-old defender who was on the books at Partick and Queens Park before.
Clydebank have found out their opening fixture of the upcoming season. They are left to watch the other four sides play in the Sectional League Cup which kicks off on Wednesday 6th August, before playing away to Maryhill on Saturday 9th August. Then on Wednesday 13th August it's a home game against Ashfield, before facing Yoker on Saturday 16th August. Bankies end the SLC group stages at home to Glasgow Perthshire on Wednesday 20th August, newly reinstated after taking a year out. Three days later Clydebank face Kilbirnie Ladeside at Holm Park in the first league match of the season, before ending August with a tricky trip to Ayrshire side Girvan. Then September begins with a home tie against Renfrew, before facing Kilsyth Rangers at Duncansfield Park a week later. September 20th sees the Bankies travel to face Bellshill in the first round of the West of Scotland Cup. Keep an eye on all the league fixtures in our division by clicking the 'Table' page, a new feature has been added to that page.
After many weeks of editing the end-of-season DVD is finally finished, and I'll be hopeful of the club being ready to sell it for the start of pre-season. It includes most of the league matches (missing away to Annbank and home to East Kilbride), the Scottish Junior Cup journey, Player of the Year night footage and even a top 10 goals of the season list compiled by Stooky. The DVD runs for about 110 minutes, and I am very pleased with my effort. Make sure you tell as many folk as you can to buy the DVD to help raise money for the Bankies!

Meanwhile, I hope that people will use their Saturday mornings to help out at Holm Park - keep eyes on the Bankies Banter forum for updates on when help is required. Yet again, this Saturday has a 10am start at Holm Park. Those that are proud to be a Bankie should try to get down to help out if they have nothing else to do on Saturday morning!
Clydebank will begin their pre-season with a trip to Barrhead to take on Arthurlie. It isn't the first time the Bankies have played the Super Premier side pre-season, and the clubs met last season in the quarter finals of the Sectional League Cup which ended in a convincing 3-0 win for the 'Lie. Most of the players will be eager to have yet another opportunity to wind up Jimmy McQuade! After that the Bankies head to Alexandria to face Vale of Leven, and then there's a week before a trip to Govan awaits to face our friends at St Anthony's. Finally, pre-season ends with the Shettleston tournament, which also involves Kilwinning Rangers and Hurlford. We will face Kilwinning on the Saturday, and the winner faces either Shettleston or Hurlford on the Sunday. It is unknown whether I'll be allowed to film this tournament. Details of the dates for these games can be found on the 'Matches' page.
YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU!

Volunteers have been requested to come down to Holm Park on Saturday at 10am to assist in the Bankies groundforce, as preparations for the season ahead take place. As the old saying goes, 'Many hands make light work' - do your bit to help the Bankies prepare for season 2008-2009!

Clydebank Till I Die

Welcome to 'Clydebank Till I Die', an unofficial website from a supporter of one of the best teams in the land, Clydebank FC. Because of this I must stress the fact that all content in this website should not be regarded as the views of Clydebank FC - so I should be allowed to say that, for example, Largs are time-wasting gits and they should fully understand that it's just one supporter's opinion and not that of Clydebank FC.

The purpose of this website is to give supporters an alternative place to visit - there's the excellent Official Clydebank FC Website too, and the Bankies Banter forums also to visit. This website will also have those all-important video highlights that I'm responsible for.

This website is hosted by Charlie Archibald, so a massive thanks to him - visit his own website by clicking the link at the bottom of the page. Instead of letting him, a professional web designer by trade, design this website I had a go myself to try and see how much I've improved since those olden days of helping the THIAF lads out years ago!
