SPIRITS OF RHYTHM : NEW ORLEANS JAZZ BAND - :
Formed
in 1980, the 'Spirits', led by club president Violet
Milne, play hot, swinging New Orleans Revival jazz and
have played festivals, clubs, parties, on boats, trains
and on the top of a Swiss mountain. The band has hosted
such notables as Teddy Riley, Sam Lee, Barry Martyn,
Lillian Boutte, Sammy Rimington, to name but a few. |

DIPLOMATS
OF JAZZ - : The Diplomats of Jazz, formed in 1985,
play the music of the Armstrong, Oliver, Jelly Roll,
Williams and other masters of the late 20s and early
30s. Cornettist Jim Petrie, takes great delight in
unearthing long forgotten pop tunes of the era. As
guests, the 'Dips' have hosted Keith Nichols, Martin
Litton and Norman Field to great effect. |
